RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
At MarkDown Closet, we want you to be completely satisfied with your fashion purchases. Our return and refund policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and compliant with Indian consumer protection laws.
RETURN WINDOW
• 7-day return window from the date of delivery
• For damaged or defective items: 48 hours from delivery
• Festival/Sale purchases: Same 7-day return window applies
• Pre-orders: 7 days from delivery date
RETURN ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for a return, items must be:
• In original condition - unworn, unwashed, and unaltered
• With all original tags, labels, and packaging intact
• Accompanied by original invoice or order confirmation
• Free from perfume, deodorant, or other scents
• Without any stains, damages, or signs of wear
NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS
For hygiene and safety reasons, the following items cannot be returned:
• Inner-wear, lingerie, swimwear, and undergarments
• Customized or personalized items
• Items bought during clearance sales (marked "Final Sale")
• Accessories like belts, bags if used
• Items without original tags or packaging
• Items returned after the 7-day window
HOW TO INITIATE A RETURN
1. Email us at help.markdowncloset@gmail.com with:
• Order number
• Item(s) you wish to return
• Reason for return
• Photos (if damaged/defective)
2. Our customer service team will respond within 24 hours
3. If approved, we'll provide:
• Return authorization number
• Return shipping address
• Return instructions
4. Pack the item(s) securely and ship to our return center
RETURN SHIPPING
• Defective/Wrong item sent: We provide free return shipping
• Change of mind returns: Customer bears return shipping cost (₹99)
• We recommend using registered post or courier with tracking
• MarkDown Closet is not responsible for items lost during return shipping
• Use original packaging when possible

INSPECTION AND PROCESSING
• We inspect all returned items within 2-3 business days of receipt
• Items must pass our quality check to qualify for refund
• You'll receive email updates on your return status
• Damaged returns may be rejected or subject to deduction
• We reserve the right to refuse returns that don't meet our criteria
REFUND PROCESS
• Approved refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
• Refunds are credited to your original payment method:
• Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 working days
• UPI/Digital Wallets: 2-5 working days
• Net Banking: 5-10 working days
• Cash on Delivery: Bank transfer to your account
• Original shipping charges are non-refundable (unless our error)
• For COD orders, provide bank details for refund processing
• Refund amount may be reduced for return shipping charges (if applicable)
EXCHANGES
We currently don't offer direct exchanges. For size or colour changes:
1. Return the original item following our return process
2. Place a new order for your preferred item
3. This ensures faster processing and availability
DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE ITEMS
If you receive damaged, defective, or wrong items:
• Contact us immediately within 48 hours
• Email photos showing the defect/damage
• We'll arrange immediate replacement or full refund
• No return shipping charges for our errors
• Priority processing for such cases
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
• Size Issues: Refer to our size guide; size-related returns follow standard policy
• Colour Variation: Minor variations due to screen display are not considered defects
• Bulk Orders: Special terms may apply; contact customer service
• Gift Purchases: Returns processed to original payment method only
STORE CREDIT
• Available as an alternative to refunds
• Store credit doesn't expire
• Can be used for future purchases
• Transferable to family members with same registered email
• Processing time: Immediate upon return approval
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
If you're not satisfied with our return resolution:
